The
tournament will be on July 12th and 13th 2003 in Oberhausen. Besides
the winners cup and the refunding of the startmoney the winner will
get a challenge cup and 100 Euro prize money. The MVP ( Most Valuable
Player ) will win a journey to Paris for 2 persons and the highest scorer
will win a "Door to Door balikbayan Box". As you can see we
have some nice prices. PhilGer e.V organized the first time a Basketball tournament in Oberhausen. They game were succesfully finished. They basketball tournament contains 12 participants coming from all over germany, and the game took 2 days. We have proud to announced they winners first place got to Skywalkers second place got to Caviteo Sons. They winners of this game have recieved a trophy and small cash amount. They competitors of the last game, were are they winners of the first day. And finally, the last game were played with the Caviteneo Sons team vice versa with the Skywalkers team from Hagen. We have to thank for the following persons who have helped to this basketball events, thanks to the helped of our beloved mayor "Oberbürgermeister" Burkhard Drescher and also to father Manni Tamayo who makes the committee in this events.

"Oath of Sportsmanship" We, the member of the participating teams for the PhilGer e.V all Filipino Basketball Tournament 2002 hereby duly pledge to uphild the rukes and regulation existing in this tournament. We will try our best to play honestly and fairly promoting the sense of sense of brotherhood and camaraderie. Rules and Regulations 1. Players___ Filipino (or half-blooded Filipinos) are qualified to play. No imports allowed. 2. Uniform___ All players are required to play with a proper uniform, possibly with names and numbers visible and easy to read at a glance. Players wearing no proper uniforms are disqualified to play. 3. Punctuality___ All players are expected to be at the sport hall at aroun 8:30 am in the morning. 4. Lineup____ At least 7 minutes before play is set to begin, each team must deliver to the scorers certain information about their lineup (the names and numbers of all eligible squad members; and the 5 starting players). If this information is not delivered, your team may receive a technical foul. 5. Team foul___ 5 team fouls in each half-time gives way for penalty situation.
7. Technical foul___ The referees and the table officials decide for a technical foul. In cases of extreme misbehavior in the court, they have the right to eject players from a game or suspention for the entire tournament. 8. Time-out___ 2 times-outs in each half-time could be asked by a team. Each time-out lasts for 1 minute. 9. Duration___1st day: each game lasts 2x 8 minutes with stops; 2nd day: 2x 10 minutes w/ stops; championship: 2x 15 minutes w/ stops. Thank you.
